PROBLEM

The brief was to design a project for the then-upcoming relaunch of the Fondazione Adolfo Pini, envisioning future scenarios. How how the foundation could have 'stretched' into the neighbourhood and beyond within a broader ecosystem of services?

SOLUTION

TECHNĒ: a residency project for artists from all over the world in which we expand the boundaries of art through a direct collaboration with innovative technology companies.

THE FOUNDATION

Fondazione Adolfo Pini

A non-profit institution — promotes and disseminates the pictorial work of Renzo Bongiovanni Radice (1899–1970), the maternal uncle of Adolfo Pini. It supports young artists active in painting, through awards and scholarships.

WORK PROCESS

PRELIMINARY RESEARCH

Preliminary research

We began by analyzing the Foundation's history, its current services, internal organization, and the surrounding area’s economic activities. We also reviewed the internal spaces and how they are currently used to identify potential improvements.

Interviews & Analysis of similar services

The actual heart of the journey turned out to be the interviews conducted with more than 30 people of different backgrounds and nationalities during all phases of the process.

A NEW VISION FOR THE FOUNDATION

Fondazione A. Pini is a non-profit residency center for artists where to experiment art through new cutting-edge technologies and innovative materials, in an intercultural and interdisciplinary space.

This hub will serve as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and creation for both artists and tech companies.

SERVICE MAP

TECHNE becomes a bridge that positions artists in the limelight of Fondazione Pini’s established network.

Consulates are identified as invaluable sources for Fondazione Pini: they can help spreading the call for applications and provide financial support for international artists' accommodation in Milan.

Considering the Milan ecosystem, companies that produce cutting-edge technologies and want to show the potential of their products will be natural partners of the Adolfo Pini Foundation.
